Fairways restaurant on the marina in Vilamoura is a vibrant and lively restaurant, they have a relaxing atmosphere whereby one can unwind, relax and enjoy a delicious cuisine dish of black pork, from the region of Alentejo included in your Golfers Platter.
My starters are prawns in a garlic sauce. I had to order bread to dip in my sauce because it was so deliciously tasty. The prawns were nicely cleaned and well cooked.
My main course was the Golfers Platter with Black pork, Chicken, Beef, and corn on the cob, including steamed vegetables. The meats were roasted on a wooden smokey grill, and “oh,” what flavors were transferred from the wood to meats, extraordinary! It took my mind on a journey to a place deep in the countryside where there was a big fire on the go from tree chunks that were chopped up and set ablaze. All of the flavors from the smokey wood were transferred into the meats, a truly tasty journey. Included in your golfers platter is a small portion of black pork, it is know in the Portuguese community as “secretos.” or secrets I must say, “Wow ,wow, and wow again! I have eaten “secrets” at a few different restaurants, but this one is tops, with the smokey woody taste. If you have never eaten “secrets” (black pork )before, it is a cuisine from the region of Alentejo, and the black pigs are fed on acorns. I do highly recommend that this is the restaurant for you to try it out at. The starters, Prawns in garlic sauce, plus the main course, are priced at 23,90 €.

My dessert is a sticky toffee pudding, with vanilla ice cream, left me stuffed like a turkey after my three course meal, but I was fully satisfied.

My overall score is 8 out of 10 for Fairways and very well deserved I must say . They give excellent table service, and a good ambiance in this restaurant exists with people chatting away and laughing! One can truly relax and enjoy the surroundings of the marina on Vilamoura here.
